Mazda Announces Details for the 2024 CX-50 Line-Up

Mazda Canada has unveiled pricing and specifications for its 2024 Mazda CX-50, emphasizing the crossover SUV's integration of the brand's unique on-road driving dynamics with off-road capability. With a starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $39,300, the CX-50's range spans several models, aiming to cater to a diverse set of driving preferences and needs.

At the base, the CX-50 GS-L, priced at $39,300 MSRP, boasts a variety of standard features from dual-zone automatic climate control, a power rear liftgate, to a panoramic moonroof. Under the hood, it houses a Skyactiv-G 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, complemented by a Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. Safety, as anticipated from Mazda, is paramount with the inclusion of i-Activsense active and passive safety features.

For those leaning towards a more luxurious experience, the CX-50 GT, tagged at $44,250 MSRP, distinguishes itself with 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a premium Bose audio system, leather seating surfaces, and additional safety technologies, such as the windshield-projected Active Driving Display.

The CX-50 GT Turbo, available at $46,750 MSRP, takes performance up a notch. It's powered by Mazda's Skyactiv-G 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and comes with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, enhancing the Mazda performance experience. Notably, it boosts the towing capacity from 907 kg (2,000 lbs) on the standard model to 1,588 kg (3,500 lbs).

Further diversifying the range is the CX-50 Turbo Meridian Edition, starting at $49,250 MSRP. This edition captures Mazda's ethos of being more "human in nature," spotlighting exclusive alloy wheels, distinctive hood graphics, and outdoor-specific accessories. For those desiring the pinnacle of adventure, the Meridian Edition also offers an Apex Package at $50,650 MSRP, which provides additional features like roof-mounted black crossbars and a rooftop tent option.

All versions of the CX-50 incorporate Mazda's i-Activ All-Wheel Drive (AWD) technology, along with standard drive modes such as Sport and Off-road, curated to optimize performance across varied terrains.

Prospective buyers can anticipate the arrival of the 2024 Mazda CX-50 at Mazda retailers nationwide soon.
