MAZDA IS THE SAFEST AUTOMAKER IN THE WORLD!

If you’re going to have a crash, make sure you’re in a Mazda. If safety is high on your priority list when buying a car, there’s a high chance you’ll be entering a Volvo dealership. After all, the XC60 is being marketed as the safest SUV money can buy, with its advanced assists that can avoid accidents and rigid structure that prevents cabin intrusion. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, however, Mazda now makes the safest cars on the road. After being subjected to rigorous crash testing, the CX-5 crossover was awarded the coveted Top Safety Pick+ rating – along with every model in Mazda’s 2017 line-up.

Not only does this mean the CX-5 was awarded the Top Safety Pick+ rating for the fifth year in a row since it launched in 2012, it makes Mazda the only automaker to receive the award across its entire line-up. Even Volvo couldn’t compete, as the new S90 and XC90 missed out on the prestigious Plus rating. IIHS praised the CX-5’s low-speed emergency braking and LED headlights which come as standard. But for it to receive the top rating the SUV that was crash tested was fitted with optional front crash-prevention and automatic high beam headlights.
As well as advanced tech and strong structures, Mazda says its cars’ “direct feeling” helps drivers avoid accidents altogether.

“Our vehicles are designed and engineered to help protect the driver and passengers if a collision happens,” said Masashi Otsuka, VP of Mazda North American R&D. “To Mazda, safety is about empowering the driver as much as helping to protect him or her. We’re proud of the accomplishments of the CX-5 development team and appreciative of the IIHS’s recognition.” So, if you’re going to have a crash, make sure you’re in a Mazda. Prices for the CX-5 start at $24,045.
